Wanting to get a hut for my male caique. I don’t really trust fabrics. Wanna know what sort of huts you guys use for your caiques. Pics and Amazon links would be greatly appreciated!

Most people stay away from huts, a) because they can get a deadly intestinal blockage from ingesting those synthetic fibres, and b) because hiding in them can cause hormonal aggression and/or egg laying which is also undesirable and potentially dangerous.

There are exceptions to this rule, and you can get huts made of seagrass or sisal if you still feel the need to go down this path. However I had to ditch my Lilly Pilly's seagrass hut because even though she was only using it to sleep in, it was still enough to switch her little brain into high-gear and she started laying eggs, so I had to toss it! And they really don't "need" them anyway :)

Umbrella Cockatoo- 15? years old..I think?
They are bad news--- I do not like them AT ALL (there is actually a major lawsuit going on over these). Not only do they kill birds, they cause hormonal issues that lead to health and behavioral consequences in most. Any shadowy space will attract any bird but that is because their entire life is centered around reproducing and cavity-dwellers need a dark space for nesting. My cockatoo wants a dark space like a 16-year old "cool-kid" wants Jack Daniels---she doesn't get it because it will ruin her...she is not in any position to reproduce and I am not setting the stage.

I hate the ideas of huts, If you want a hut thing for your bird, buy a designated wooden nesting box for caiques and line the nesting box with a special nesting substrate
All huts and nest boxes are unnecessary for all pet birds, if you want to breed Caiques go ahead and buy a nesting box, but for pet birds there are betters thing for them
Thanks

But-- a nesting box will also encourage mating, hormones and egg production. A bird doesn't need a nest box--if a bird has eggs that need to come out, they will come out w/ or without a box to lay them in, but if you add a box, you increase the chances that eggs will be produced--- even in a single bird.
A nest box is safer in terms of materials and entanglement risk, but still risky in terms of creating a situation conducive to breeding.
Birds may mate and not reproduce without the proper conditions (just depends) but when there is a nest box and food abundance, you are rolling out the red carpet for reproduction and hormonal behavior.
