Hi there!

Foraging is essential for a parrot's mental stimulation. In the wild, some species would forage 12 hours a day, so it's important to fill their time as much as possible!

Here's a video on foraging toys :) You can use anything you would normally give to your bird - although at first while your bird is still learning to foraging, putting in "high value" treats (ones that they love but don't get often) will incentivize them to dig into the toy! As they learn, you can start adding their more usual food - or even have them forage for pellets eventually!

Like I said in my post, you can use anything to forage. But you will want to start with treats that your bird loves and doesn't get very often, like nuts or fruits. :) it totally depends on the bird. Some would want to forage for apples while others wouldn't have to incentive to do so. Just test things out and see what your bird likes!
