Cockatiels and heartattacks

Are cockatiels bad about heart attacks from stress? I noticed every now and then Kou held his wing funny, and didn't really think much about it because he could still fly fine and it didn't seem to hurt him. But in humans an arm hurting can be signs of a heart attack and I thought that might be a possibility, thoughts?

I don't know if he was stressed or not but since it was a new home I thought it was worth asking.

I have noticed that some birds, after being clipped, will hold one or both wings out at an odd angle. It's unnatural to them and feels "off". This "feeling" seems to be enhanced if the bird tries to fly.

So I can't say that it's heart attack related. Yes, birds can have them, but it does not sound like one to me.

I saw a budgie have a heart attack when I was younger. It was my sister's bird, and he was only a few years old. He was chirping happily and climbing up the ladder in his cage, gave a sudden shrill call and then just fell down dead.

There wasn't any noticable warning, just boom, gone.

He had been clipped at one time but he was able to fly when he did this, they may have been clipped slightly off? And he was really weak that day so that probably wasn't it then.

Looking at the photos, the end of the feathers were trimmed. Not enough to stop him from flying, but it could have been enough to bother him. I can't tell for the rest of the flights, though.

You can speculate and guess all you like, but unfortunately, without a necropsy, there's no way to tell. Necropsies can't always find out what happened, but they are far more conclusive than speculating.
