I bought two cockatiels from some people today and the female has been plucked pretty badly by the male. They was supposed to be tame but the male is not at all and already drew blood from the bite. But that's not near as bad as how bad the female was. They did a horrid clip on her and her back of her head is bald from the male plucking her so much. Here are some pictures of her. And I already separated them so the female can get better and hopefully grow her feathers back!

Her head feathers may never grow back. I have a male missing a lot of his own head feathers for the same reason - plucked out by a mate. His never did grow back. His left side is worse than his right side, but he still has the orange cheek patches. The major damage was done behind the crest, down the back of the skull, around his neck, and the lower chin area.

That's so sad, I immediately separated them hoping no permanent damage had been done, but trying to not be too optimistic about it.
