I keep reading about how quiet female cockatiels are and how only the males whistle and sing. But do the females make any sounds? Our baby cockatiel (9 wks old) chirps all the time. Especially at dawn/dusk and if we leave the room and it still wants our attention. Do both sexes make that chirping noise? Or does that mean ours is a male?

A female can make sounds but aren't as likely. The males are usually more vocal and will sing/whistle for you. My one male knows how to do a wolf whistle and the other does this really weird song. My females are quiet but will chirp and talk to each other.
