Hi all.
As my feathered family grows lol im wondering about my male tiel rocky, he is a rescue bird who is around 6 and a half and iv had him 3 years now. He sits on you and whistles and steps up but hates being touched. He had been with a girl before being rehomed and iv wondered since i got him if i should get him a girlfriend, he likes the other birds...but they dont like him.
Only concerns are as far as tiels go hes not mega noisy and wonder if adding a girl would start a screaming match. Also im fine with the other birds but as hes more dusty it makes me a little wheezy but i take my inhaler and am fine so wondered also if maybe another would be alot more dust.

Whats your thoughts

Thanks in advance

Unless you want to breed a budgie can be a good companion for a tiel. I have a very difficult rescue tiel who was neglected and abused, and didn't let any of my other bird even close to him. About 6 weeks ago I adopted a very sweet little budgie, and they became friends right away. Now they are housed together, and would scream if I separate them even for a few minutes. :)

My tiel loves my budgies. She gets along really well with my ornery quakers too. They play together outside their cages every day. She's my quietest bird, the budgies make more noise. Another tiel in your flock would add more dust. I'm wondering if, given time your tiel and your new linnies could become friends. I have no first hand experience with linnies so I can't say for sure.

Thanks for the replies. My p'let is such a grump with him, the tiel wants to get close but nope.
Thats a shame your tiel was abused, i think the previous owner of my boy just didnt want him anymore cos he wanted a new bird for the girl.
I wondered about the linnies but im trying to tame them a bit they are petrified so iv got my hand in the cage a few time a day chatting but they hide in the corner poor wee birds i dont think theyv had a great time before i got them, the wing clip is terrible! They have started making noises back at me so its just a waiting game to gain their trust. I hope i can though as they are so scared.
I wonder though if thats not an option maybe a budgie, iv not had one in years i miss them and i know some good breeders.

Iv never bred my birds i would love babies, its alot to think about.
I do love my tiel hes so funny with his whistles n songs. Then again i love them all they are all so different
