Hey I just wanted to know what other birds out there are like cockatiels. I really love cockatiels and was wondering if any other birds are like them in personality etc. Any info would be great.:white1:

If you are looking for a small bird that makes a great pet, go with an english budgie (about twice the size of a normal budgie) or Linnie parakeet. They can be a little expensice but make great pets, hand tame great, talk and cuddle.

I suggest Rainbow Lories. They are so sweet and nice!

I have to agree with greycloud, lineolated Parakeets or linnies for short, are quickly becoming one of the most popular pet birds, especially among first time bird owners and those that don't have a lot of room, they come in many color mutations, are very quiet and unlike many parrots are not extremly demanding.......

My opinion after playing with the Lori's at the rescue, they are not like Cockatiels I know!
Zambezie Rainbow Lorikeet is a total nut case and is full on all day every day.

Potato Rainbow lorikeet, is starting to run a close second to Zammy.

Unnamed Red Collar, certainly needs lots of together time and will stick her head right in one mouth that I know of.

We have a lot of Lori's (I think there are around 40) to go by.
I only have 4x Tiels at home.
Three are very well behaved and nothing like the Lori's.
Max on the other hand is more your regular macho young male, no fear and into everything. And cannot sit still.

i don't know about their personality though. not sure where you live, if its the states they may be hard and expensive to get.
