Does my Tiel need a friend!!!?

Hi,
I've had my cockatiel for 2 days now. One day he was screaming pretty loud making sounds like he was calling his flok or something, so i had to record it on my phone. Now everytime i play that on my mobile he quickly looks around and starts making the same sound thinking another bird is calling him. Its sooo cute, but kinda breaks my heart coz he thinks its another bird and he starts to look around so excited and screaming back.

Does he need another Tiel in the cage, or is it fine to keep him alone?

First, welcome to the forum!

Since you've only had him for 2 days it's hard to say if he needs a friend or not. However, if he was with other birds before you got him, he is probably a bit lonely now. That doesn't mean that he won't adjust perfectly fine to being an only bird. Of course, getting another bird doesn't mean that they'll like each other anyway.

Give him lots of attention and help him get used to his new home. And give him time to adjust.

I agree with DI, its only been a couple days, give him time to adjust to his new surrounding and give him a chance to bond to you, by getting another bird now, if they do get along together they just might bond with each other and not need you :11:
