Aries is my cockatiel, I've had him 6-7 and he is very attached to me, he still comes to me, this oast month he is not "aggressive" but acts very defensive on certain things only to snap back and act normal again.

He started this obsession with my nose (lol), he will come to my nose and try to mess with it, but gets agitated if I move away from him. Whenever he has had one of these moments, he never actually bites me, but will throw his head around kinda doa whine/hiss like he's annoyed only for him to return back to normal seconds later. Anyone know what this might be?

The only difference is I got a new bird in December (green cheek) and I thought maybe they didn't get along, but I walked in my room the other day and they were preening each other so everything seemed ok. Any ideas? Do male cockatiels change behavior at a certain time of the year?

I am at a loss. none of my 5 cockatiels have ever shown this kind of behavior. Hopefully someone else has seen this.

No experience with cockatiels but my hawk head, who is a sweetie, will have those moments for no reason apparent to me, puts up her feathers and hisses for a second or two. I always feel like she is being frustrated by something that she is trying to do and that her way of saying F$@# ! :)

That might be it, idk to be honest. It's confusing to me because it's not like he isn't being friendly, he is still coming to me and getting on my shoulder and stuff, it's just like he wants to do something and gets frustrated if it isn't going his way ya know?
