Another boring bird video for you, haha!

Actually the shower a couple of days ago was much better but it was also much much longer and of course I didn't have a camera set up for that one. What a sweet heart :grey:

That is Great video. Wish my Macaw liked water. BUT he is at least coming into the bathroom now and dragging everything around. SO maybe a shower next.

Love the way he rubs his head on your arm

No bird video is a boring video. It is good that he enjoys showers like that. Mine will have a luke warm bath with a soft water bottle. He gets excited when he gets a bath that he loves it. It encourages preening more, helps with dry skin and feather dust. I see that some stores have small pet bird baths to put in the cage but I see it as more of an interaction between bird and the person they own.

I tried the baking dish bath but he didn't seem to care much for it. In fact, putting him in the water seems to be the most reliable way to get him flying laps around the living room that I've found so far ;)

It took Bacca a while to appreciate it, but she doesn't mind coming in to the shower with me as long as I sing "Singing in the Rain" with her (she's very musical).

Just wondering when I should introduce shower time with the new guy...he is still a baby..

Hey Dusty, come over and teach my 'tiel to bathe too! Seriously, he needs it! :p

What does he smell like after a nice spritzing? Mine tends to smell like wet dog... probably indicating that he doesn't shower ENOUGH. But he just refuses! *grumble*

Yep, wet dog pretty much nails it! Maybe try some different things or even a different sprayer? The first couple times I tried it on Dusty he wasn't into it, but then I realized that my spray bottle was making a squeaking noise that might sound like a squeal or cry to him. When I tried the quick short sprays instead of long pumps, he was fine. Wish I had been able to record the shower before this one as he was really into it and got completely soaked by the time I was done.

Cute vid! I love it when they bathe :D

My tiel bathes about once every few days... he sits on my shower rail every single time I shower and lets me know when he wants a bath... they look soooo miserable afterwards though lol

I'm obsessed with the way my tiel smells... smells so good I constantly sniff my tiel... but he does indeed smell best dry than wet... even though wet dog STINKS so bad... I'll take wet bird over wet dog smell any day :p
