And a Normal Grey Cockatiel named BB who came home with me on 5/20/2016.
...to this part of the forums lol.. I just picked up a baby grey tiel for a buddy for Amy..always had two birdies in my home, and with the passing of Smokey last year, and having to rehome Jonesy,Amy,and I were kind of down in the dumps.
Amy is a VERY social 'zon..she makes friends fast be it feathered or human.
She was very good with Jonesy, and wanted to be pals with Smokey...tried her best...but Smokes wanted no part of it.

I really did want another AG but my budget said NO!! And I have been around cockatiels before and found them to be,at the least, very sweet birds,'keets are just too bossy lol.

Soooooo...I stopped into a breeder today, after doing research on them. They breed and raise, their own birdies, all except for keets..All sorts of 'too's,macs, greys, love birds, ring necks,finches..the list goes on,and they have been in business for 36 yrs.

So they had four tiels that were ready to go to new homes today, and they have about a dozen still weaning..so I got a regular grey guy..14 weeks old..wont know the sex till he molts..super cuddly,friendly...chirping away already..loves head scratches and handling..jumps right onto my finger..got all sorts of goodies for him...he is on Zupreem fruit blend pellets..and still on a "weaning mix".. heres a pic of the guy..still haven't named him.. either Tuffy..Corky..Mrs Teil..Buddy < seeing how he IS Amys buddy lol>

Thanks! I could not resist introducing Amy to him/her. Amy was in her house,on her relax perch, and the little guy was on my finger. Amy climbed down from her perch <she was inside her house> and came to the door, hanging upside down, and she was mumbling away in 'zon speak, and the little guy just sat on my finger looking.

Don't know if you read my first post in the Amazon section, but when I took the little one out of his carry box..Amy was looking and said " Whats that??> too funny...she knows she has a new friend :)

Congrats on the tiel. Parakeets to me are a little "busy." They are intelligent and good birds though. When I got my tiel, it was between a keet or tiel at the time and researched both. At the store, mine was waddling up to the bin with his little beetle eyes. He still does it to this day, 14 (in October!) years later. Was Smokey a tiel, and if so, how old? I think Buddy would be a good name for your tiel.
