This stinks. Rex is finally starting to warm up to me. I guess its true it can take up to a year.

Unfortunately its also true that I have to rehome her and Jet. My allergies make it necessary.

Im gonna miss them.

I hope they like their new home and dont miss me too much. I only have about 8 weeks left till Rose weans.

Oh Grace, that is so sad and unfortunate. Your health must come first, but is there any possibility high-quality air cleaners make life with them possible? Frequent bathing may also help. (the birds, not you!!)

Grace, I am so sorry :(. It hurts to hear about this, because I know how hard rehoming is. Even when it's necessary, it doesn't make it any easier.

Grace.I am sooo sorry to hear that. When I was a kid I had all sorts of allergies also..Alergic to feather beds..feather pillows < my fav> pollen..rag weed the list went on..
As I got older things got better, but it took till I was in my early 20's before stuff didn't bother me.

Don't know what I'd do without my fids  My heart goes out to you.

I have 2 hepa filters. The problem is im allergic to the down, the feathers and while not allergic the poop seeds etc get in the air and irritate my lungs.

My lungs are in a constant state of irritation. When I encounter an environmental allergy such as a smell my reaction is worsened due to being constany irritated.

As I have reduced my flock it has gotten better but I still have problems.

Looking back I can see how each addition resulted in a worsening of my condition.

I have to be a one bird person. I will be keeping Rose. We are bonding quite well.

Rex and Jet have a wonderful new home picked out and I am just waiting for Rose to be abundance weaned.

Grace, I feel for you, I know this has been a heartbreaking decision. When you are constantly exposed to allergens you are sensitive to, your reactions can escalate to the point of severely endangering your health.

I'm glad you have found a wonderful new home for Rex and Jet. Hopefully having only one bird will make all the difference and you will be able to keep Rose for years to come.

It's great they warmed up to you after awhile. Sad about rehoming them, but when it's your health. Can't imagine it must've been so hard to do. I'm sure they'll warm up in their new home nicely. It's good you and Rose are having a good bond too.
