I think he doesn't like these balls! I've seen him pick them up once or twice ever and usually if I present one to him he hisses at it. Today I guess he decided he wasn't going to hang around near that evil thing! Ok bird, get some exercise then =)

Wow Wade...the Dusty Dood is quite the flier lol..Now I know what to expect when BB finds out he can < he practices ALOT...waving his arms frantically..soon he will discover he's going more than a foot or two lol>.

The little ball you are showing him..the people who now have Jonesy...the hubby rolls the ball on the floor and Jones will run/hop to it,pick it up,and bring it back to him ;)

Way to go, Dusty! You give a whole new meaning to "exercise ball". Aren't you the skilled pilot?

That's what I was hoping Jim, that Dusty would like those maybe fetch the ball or at least play with it. But as you can see, he wants NO part of that ball!

But the bigger surprise for me was the flying saucer. It's really a hamster toy variant of a wheel that they run on top of. I got one and put it on the play top before Dusty even came home from the bird shop, and I expected it would be ignored until I eventually tossed it out. Much to my surprise, last night he was playing on the silly thing. Would stand on the low side, grab the far side with his beak and let it swing him around. He did it a few times in a row last night and also a couple times today. If I ever catch him on video doing that, I'll definitely share :D

I think I need to make a stainless steel slide for him to play on, I'm betting he'll love that.

Wade,go the the 'keet/budgie forum. "BIRDIGIRL" left a post with a YouTube clip she found of a guy with a "circus" of budgies..One part of the vid shows the little guys sliding down a slide...very funny and cute ;)

I've watched that video more than once already! It's super cute and you can tell those birds are having a great time.

I think with a decent slide, Dusty will be the envy of all the wild birds outside his window here in Texas ;)

Two Cockatiels: Rascal (Geraldine) and his baby brother named Coconut!
It is so nice to see another unclipped tiel free to fly as a bird should be... getting lots of needed healthy exercise :D

I cannot wait until new my tiel "Coconut" can finally fly.... he is going nuts with tons of pent up energy it is terrible, poor thing. My other tiel "Rascal" is fully flighted... but he hardly ever flys unless I am chasing him... he is very lazy! lol
