Two Cockatiels: Rascal (Geraldine) and his baby brother named Coconut!
I sprouted new seeds with glass mason jars I just bought on Amazon with (way better than plastic!). I LOVE this sprouting kit: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B015EYUQH8/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

... and Coconut was eating sprouts for several minutes!!

I have to make sure sprouts are dry because if they are wet he won't eat them. I need to sprout quinoa as Rascal would eat the quinoa if I hand feed it to him because he thought it was millet LOL

Check out Coconut's beak... it's covered in sprouts.

I finally have some hope that they will get more fresh greens into them....

That is a puffed rice cake: ORGANIC BROWN RICE CAKE ? SALT-FREE | Lundberg Family Farms

It's oil and salt free... healthy crunchy snack for them... just made of brown rice and nothing else :D Great snack for humans too... I spread cashew butter on it or peanut butter with sliced bananas and crunch away.

They love them... same with plain popcorn... the rice cakes are less messy and keeps them preoccupied for a few minutes at least :p

Nice job Juliet :) Good to see "Nut enjoying himself. I haven't tried sprouts yet,but I have gotten some fresh spinach. Beebs HAS to eat in front of me,I have to act like I'm chowing down too. If I try putting nummys on a plate on his roof top,all he does is walk all over it lol

But if there is a plate here on my 'puter desk, and I am here,he will eat.
So far its been corn and peas, pasta noodles,a sample of spinach, and a munch or two on watermelon..no 'nana yet, which is one of Amys fav fruits.

I am happy to see that at least he is TRYING new things. When I first got him he just wouldn't.

LOL... yes he sure looks like he was pigging out on sprouts. His beak was totally caked in sprouts. I had to clean his beak afterwards so he wouldn't wipe it on me! :D

I also got Coconut to eat sweet potato today. I baked a sweet potato... Rascal LOVES sweet potatoes but he is being a turd. He decided to refuse to it eat it today because of Coconut's presence! LOL

Coconut wanted NOTHING to do with the sweet potato until I smeared it on his beak then he finally took a couple bites and walked away. Frustrating! I swear it's easier with conures... conures seem to be more EASY to feed healthy than tiels!

I love bananas too... I eat at least 8-15 bananas a day...mostly in fruit smoothies. Rascal doesn't like them though, go figure.
