Jonesy a Goffins 'Too who had to be rehomed :-(

And a Normal Grey Cockatiel named BB who came home with me on 5/20/2016.
...just got in from picking up supplies for the Beebers..(sorry Beebs,no toys this time )

I was surprised at the amount of 'tiels they had this time...had to be a dozen or more. 6 or 7 'normal greys"..they labled them as "hand fed babies". I could tell that they already had gone thru their first molt, coz the boys had their yellow faces/heads.
They all looked rather p.o. too. All standing there, glaring at me with a "Ya?? what do YOU want?" kind of a look on their faces.

They also had three "white faces" and one "cinnamon". Prices ranged from $212 for the greys..$229 for the cinnamon...and $259 for the white faces.
all of them ran away when approached. ( I kind of understand that, for some reason the store was jammed with people..and KIDS..prolly tormenting the poor things.

They had a baby green wing...born 11/2016..with a 'sold' sign on his cage.
I couldn't interact with him coz they had him in another room, with a glass front, for your viewing pleasure  .
His tag said he was indeed a he..with his birthdate..and his species listed as a "red macaw" with an "L" at the end,as in "MacawL" WT* is up with these clueless people?? And he a "sold" sticker on his enclosure...for $3400!!

I took a bunch of pics with my phone, I only wish I knew how to transfer them to my computer,or post directly from the phone...sighhhh...

One way is to go to your gallery on your phone, open the picture you want, at the top is a symbol with 3 dots (share symbol) and you can email to yourself. Then check your email and download to your computer.

I hear you! Our local mom and pop pet store (Leeseburg Pets), prices less than a third! And...even their bungies can be handled!

:( I hate seeing birds just pumped out that way to the highest bidder. You know if the new owners have any problems the store won't be even slightly equipped to help.

Since you can only attach so many photos directly to a thread, I think you'll find photobucket to be your best friend.

Those are insane prices!

My local pet store (family owned, has 1 location, gets animals from local breeders) has tiels for $68. And hand fed ones for $90. All the animals at that pet store are less than $100 dollars. Mutations are the same price as "normals". And each tiel has its own cage (tiels are as large as the store goes).

I wouldn't want to see prices that low either though. Keep in mind animals who bring in a lower price tend to get a lower level of care.
