Sunny - younger, placid & dominant
Sky - Older, trouble, jealous & chewer

Previously had a male Budgie that lived for 12 years.
My tiel somehow managed to get a large chunk of poop under his wing.

I've tried to grab him and clean off what I could but there is still some there. Any ideas? He doesn't like being grabbed and flails around to try and escape.

I'm not sure if I can train him somehow to be calm or what.. just not sure how to get the poop off his feathers in that awkward spot.

He's hand raised.

Does he take baths? Also, you are spooking him by grabbing! You need to rebuild trust!

He only likes spray bottle baths. I can't get him to bath any other way. I handle him the most, I ended up petting him and giving him a sunflower seed

He loves head scratches a lot.

Yes as David says it is really only water that will remove this. They usually forgive quite soon if it has to be an unwanted bath/shower.

Have you tried putting a shallow dish in the cage?

bathtime! put some water in the tub and set him in there. see if he will wash himself, if not, let him check the water out and talk nicely to him reassuring him its ok. once he calms down I would gently wash the poop off, splash up under his wing while he's standing in the water. If he flaps around you might have to gently hold him. It should only take a few seconds to get the poop off so afterwards see if he wants lovins and keep reassuring. He will get over it quickly I suspect.

Yep, I agree, bath time! Just like a kid that is dirty and doesn't want to take a bath and throws a fit, you put them in the bath, quickly wash under their wings while they are kicking and screaming, and then it's done. Give them a treat and some head scritches and everything will be OK!
