Elvis' outside time

Today I finally have enough time to take Elvis outside with me... Enough time, but the weather is not cooperating. It was (and currently still is) in the 90s today! I can't stand the heat, so I don't think my birds can stand the heat either. Elvis was so excited, he was really looking forward to coming outside, but I guess Mother Nature had other plans. Since I have Drivers Ed Monday Tuesday and Wednesday, I don't have enough time to bring my birds outside with me, the rest of the week is when I try to make up for the out-of-cage/bonding-time with my flock. I have even more time since I lost my job.

On the other hand, tomorrow shouldn't be as hot, and I'll bring them outside then.

Also, Elvis is having issues regarding his ability to fly. His flight feathers aren't growing in correctly, therefore he can't fly, he drops like a rock. Because of this, I'm going to take him out and have short periods of time with his leash and/or harness off. (Please no hate for my decision.)
I've been practicing with him by not holding onto his leash and since he can't fly, I feel better about my decision.

Elvis has been separated from the budgies due to the budgies being territorial. It is breeding season for the budgies so I can understand why they were fighting him. Thing is, Elvis is a coward and will flee instead of fight, he can't defend himself therefore making him a perfect target for the budgies and Jordan. I'm looking for a cage within my price range to temporarily separate them. Elvis in one cage, the budgies in another, Jordan in another. In the mean time, I've divided one cage, Elvis in one side Jordan in the other (it would have been too small for a pair of budgies, since I can't divide the cage evenly)

Elvis is an amazing companion, and I love him to death!

What kind of recall training does Elvis have? Even with flying issues, a strong wind could carry a bird away, so a 100% obedience in coming when called
is a must for free flying.
(neat picture by the way, must have been hard to get one in focus while in motion!)

He comes when called. He runs over to my feet when I call him.

What do you mean his feathers aren't growing in correctly? Not growing in AT ALL or growing in WRONG?

His lost molt was messy. His flight feathers grew in all messed up.
He just finished a molt, and those feathers look much nicer, but one feather grew in diagonally (Elvis broke it and I had to pull it) and there are 4 feathers in total that haven't grown in yet, these 4 feathers didn't grow in during the last molt either.
During his last vet visit (a follow up for his liver disease) I asked about the feathers, I was told that they will grow in eventually.

Yeah he was wearing a harness in that photo. But he isn't in this photo.
He might not be able to fly very well, but when he catches a breeze he can fly just that much farther.

So neat to capture a bird in flight as they're meant to be. Bet he loves it. I would just take caution though as was mentioned, about free flight outside, strong winds. Just too many stories of people's birds flying away. But sounds like Elvis has good training nonetheless!

Yep Elvis looks like he certainly is enjoying himself. Great job on capturing him doing his thing lol.
