Haha thought I'd share. Jazz won't use her own feet to hold a treat but she doesn't have a problem using Perry's lol

haha very cute! You got a little thief in the making there.

Cockatiels from what I can tell don't often use their claws to hold food, it's more common amongst macaws which conures are tiny baby cousins of. I always find it hilarious when they hold things in their little feet

I love it! What an adorable video!! I want a small conure soooooo bad!

I wonder why tiels don't hold things with their feet... it's so weird how they don't.

Your conure and tiel get along MUCH better than my two tiels do. You're lucky! My tiels HATE each other lol

Too funny, same here... I saw 'Nut hold something with his feet but only once! When I saw him do it I was like "He finally figured it out what took him so long!".... wrong. Sadly he hasn't done it since. Maybe tiels think they are little humans and don't want to eat with their feet because they have never seen me eat with my feet? Who knows LOL I guess it's just more comfortable for them to use their beak.

Check out this clever tiel eating with his feet... looks like he got sick of dropping it. 'Nut could learn a thing or two from this tiel hehe

I had forgotten that about tiels! Little stinkers. Nigel could not eat without his feet. Everything must first be examined next to the eye for approval for ingestion.

Juliet that second tiel had it down pat! I wish BB would do it :( He just likes to chase "imaginary" millet seed around the kitchen table  pick pick pick as he goes along!

Ya I know exactly what you mean lol Ah well, it's rare for tiels to really use their feet like that. Too bad ours can't watch and learn right? :) That tiel in second vid was a pro for sure.

What a food snatcher. Cute video....Perry is very much a gentlebird for allowing Jazz to not only steal his food but hold it while Jazz eats. Baby will hold some food in his feet. It's funny watching him eat a cracker that is bigger than his head, but he does it!
