Normal (or not so!) Grey Cockatiel
It's that time around the year again when molting begins here. Baby does not look like a spiked chicken, albiet just little down feathers everywhere. Not too bad a molt and he's eating properly. He's for sure moody and will gently peck away at my ear when he's on me. Rests and relaxes more. Those pin feathers coming in hurt, I equate it to a human nail trying to come off! Though at times moody, he's still sweet, playful and appreciates extra cuddles and scritches.

Not an easy period of the year but luckily only lasts around 8 weeks.

The end result is of course a beautiful bird.

I think so.
I have noticed more that the usual number of feathers on the floor and in the cage.

I am not sure which ones but I think Angel is. With 4 birds in one cage it's not always obvious who lost feathers.

ALL my birds are molting right now, with Ducky starting last. Lots of feathers on the floor from everyone, and pinfeathers are making Ducky and Kermit more irritable and sensitive to touch. This is Pearlā€™s first molt also.

I think mine are too, I am noticing few feathers along with lots of dust.
