So today I added this lovely girl to my flock - my in laws didn’t have enough time for her and she’s such a friendly little bird. She’s stayed with me before while they were out of town, so she knows me and thankfully that seems to mean that she’s pretty comfortable here. I’m going to forgo the normal quarantine as she was living with a veterinarian and has been here several times before.

I wonder if some of you that are more familiar with tiels could tell me what color she is?? I’m clueless when it comes to the various coloration of tiels. She’s about 6 yrs old.

I reorganized my last empty cage for her over the past few days, which was a perfect excuse to buy a bunch of new toys and perches. She’s such a happy little girl, she went straight to the “bath perch” when we got home and waited patiently while I got the spray bottle that I usually spray her with. Screamer is currently sitting on my knee, happily preening up a pile of feather dust onto my pants :). I think she’ll settle in well with my smaller bird flock, as opposed to my in laws flock of cockatoos.

Thanks so much for identifying her color, I think she’s the most adorable little girl!

Actually, she appears to be a cinnamon pied! Her dark feathers appear to be a bit too light to be a normal pied! ;)

LOL - sounds so tasty :).

She was out (very supervised) with the others for a while last night, and no one tried to eat her lol. She mostly ignored the other birds, probably as a result of living with cockatoos that didn’t want to interact with her. Once she is settled in, I think I’ll see about harness training, she really loves riding in the car and she’d probably enjoy going out.
