Adopted another, AGAIN. ugh why why why can't I say no.

The shelter in town somehow got in a cockatiel that has no history. I don't know a thing about her past or even how old she is. She was apparently found living outside. She's definitely tamed, and steps up for me most of the time. She's an AMAZING flyer. She will take off fly around the room and land on my finger. I have named her "chessie" and she is currently in quarantine. I bought a new cage that will eventually house her and my boy, Jazz pending approval from them of course. She likes to scrap her beak under our fingernails, gross, but cute. If she gets ahold of my girlfriends nails she will chew right through em. She makes beautiful little sounds, and seems to enjoy being talked to.

She's a Pearl I think? I have read that most likely she's a female as most male Pearls return to normal grey after maturing. Any insight into that? I went ahead and ordered a DNA test anyways. I've always been wooed by their beautiful mutations.

Aw, congrats on the new tiel!

Yes, pearling usually is molted out in males as they mature, usually by 2 years old they will have molted the pearl color and the feathers that grow in will be more solid, though some pearling may be retained even after maturity.

Please post pictures!!

Hmm I did not see any picture. Yes, if she still has all her pearling and seems to be over 2 years old, then yes female! There will also be barring under her tail feathers.

Interesting, no photo here! Two different devices, both Apple!

Did a bit of hacking, can see the link,

Ah, your profile is messed up, still working on it!
Almost looks like some of your profile has elevated privileges! Admins and mods won’t see anything unusual!
So, for us ‘common’ folk, well, porridge only!

Sometimes, birds are like potato chips in that you can't have just one. Congrats on yet another addition, she sounds like a good girl. It's wonderful that the shelter spotted her - who knows what would've happened living outside. Now, she has a home and that's even more wonderful.

Anyone going to your profile will see only one tab, statistics, unless they have elevated privileges! The issue is with the permissions at the file level of your profile!

RIP Gandalf and Big Bird, you are missed.
Chessie is a beauty and is definitely smiling, having found a forever home! She is lucky to have been rescued and adopted by you!
