So for a couple months our smoke detector in the living room (where the birds also live) has been beeping every one in a while due to low battery. It only does it at night when it is a cold night...

I walk in the room today and my cockatiel is making that annoying smoke detector low battery alarm!

WE'VE CREATED A MONSTER!!!

Haha just kidding, he's still as cute as a button!

Oh, and I've since replaced all the batteries in the house lol

All are rescues- had to leave their previous homes for 'reasons', are still in contact with them :)
hahahahaha, that is exactly why I've removed the smokealarms (well the batteries anyway) - the CO-alarm is still there of course, but it is on the next floor.
(Building is made of mostly concrete so "fire" is not really a hazzard)

I love hearing parrots communicate even when they mimic obnoxious noises, it still makes me giggle every time they add a new noise to their vocabularies. Most of the time the noises are easily recognizable and I know where they heard it. That's not always the case, Sammy, one of my quakers hit me with a new one about a week ago and I have no clue where he picked it up, I was telling him good night and he started saying, "bob-da-bop-da-bop-da-bop," while simultaneously bobbing his head, he's done the same thing every evening since.
