Amy a Blue Front 'Zon
Jonesy a Goffins 'Too who had to be rehomed :-(

And a Normal Grey Cockatiel named BB who came home with me on 5/20/2016.
...with Beebs. BB is NOT really interested in his hygene! Only twice has he taken a bath in the kitchen basin on his own. He felt the water on him and all of a sudden his arms lift up,he waves them frantically, face plants himself in the basin and rolls around a bit ( I thought he was having a seizure when I first saw this ) and that's it..maybe fifteen seconds of bathing.

I usually have to trick him and grab him, which of course ticks him off big time and ends up not trusting me for a few weeks and hold him under the luke warm faucet while he screams at me in protest.

The last couple days he has been preening a lot..it was time to get wet:04:
Amy showers with me and enjoys it,why not BB?
So he took a shower with me.Sat him on the shower curtain rod while I got in. He flew to my shoulder and I turned this way and that way to just let a light spray hit him. He didn't object and did some whistling.
Since he loves my hand I let him sit on it as I moved him in and out of the spray.More chirping and this time he did some ruffling.

Anyway,he got pretty wet and didn't seem to mind it at all. With Amy I can put a hand towel over her and pat her down, flip her upside down and roll her from one hand to the other but BB hates towels ( he thinks its medication time )

I'm still looking for a proper hair dryer.

See, I just went through this last night with Bowie, my Green Cheek. He absolutely loves taking a bath on his own and getting in the shower with me, but the minute I try to give him a bath he freaks out! Last night he flew over to my shoulder from his cage, and I immediately smelled that lovely "Pellet-Soup" smell, he had just finished eating and he drug his tail through his pellet-water...it smells like vomit! Yuck, I can't stand that smell...So I took him right into the bathroom sink just to wash his tail off, and you would have thought I was lighting him on fire! He screamed bloody murder at me while I put antibacterial soap on his tail feathers and then rinsed them off...The whole thing took all of 3 minutes and my neighbors probably thought I was Waterboarding him...

Baby and Bingo both enjoy showering with me (and getting wet) Luna just likes the view (from the window of course).

With baby I hold him on my hand and stand with my back to the shower head. I let the water splash off my shoulder so he gets the water second hand. I don't really do this anymore because Lucky goes frantic when Baby is out of his sight. Lucky absolutely refuses to go into the shower but he likes a mist bath.

I try to do the same thing with Bing but what he likes best is to sit on the shower door and have my fling water at him. He spreads his wings all the way out, bobs up and down and has that manic look on his face. One day I hope to record some video of this
