One thing I miss about the cockatiel I had as a kid was those crests! They convey so much personality, like a dogs tail.

Normal (or not so!) Grey Cockatiel
Very sweet! Baby doesn't allow head scratches with fingers/hands. He steps up fine though. When we cuddle and preen I use my nose and cheeks. He likes those. :D I'll sneak in with a finger and he won't have a clue because his eyes are closed and head down. Until he learns an evil thing approaches preening territory...

My female does not allow scratches but steps up on demand. She protests with a hiss or two but then is fine lol. The closest I got my fingers to scratching territory is when she makes the hormonal chirps but I don't like to encourage the behavior.
