B&G Macaw, Galah, 5 cockatiels, 50 billion and a half budgies. We breed and do rescue. Too many to list each individual's name and age etc, but they are each individuals and loved dearly.
My 17 year old tiel, Alex, just rode 500 miles in this thing and did fine. Arrived safe and sound and happy. :)

Sunny a female B&G macaw;
Japie (m) & Appie (f), both are congo african grey;
All are rescues- had to leave their previous homes for 'reasons', are still in contact with them :)
Lots of people just get a cheap plastic box (for clothes/ goodies etc.) in the right size for a few dollars , add perches of appropriate size (diameter) for the bird and do not forget air holes.
Always make sure the box can be locked! (Clips shut securely)
(Birds or people may bump the top- you dont want it to open on a whim.)

For my greys I used a free (somebody trew it out/ gave it away) catcarier: just add a perch and you are done.
(Larger birds: make sure it is gnaw-through proof)

Thanks for the help:).

I don't think I'll be able to find a plastic box that's safe enough but I may be able to get a cat carrier from a pet community here. So I could just make the required adjustments and it'll be alright..Hopefully

What are you going to use the carrier for?

Amy a Blue Front 'Zon
Jonesy a Goffins 'Too who had to be rehomed :-(

And a Normal Grey Cockatiel named BB who came home with me on 5/20/2016.
I use something just like the bottom photo you posted to take BB to the vets and he does fine in it. What are your intentions as far as the use of the carrier? There is a carrier called "Pak-O-Bird" that a number of our members have for their birdies. They come in sizes from Mac's all the way down to Budgies and 'Teils but are kind of pricey.
If you are planning on taking your buddy outside for lengthy periods of time I would suggest something like the pac-o-bird coz it has provisions for food/water bowls unlike the other carriers you pictured.

PoB also has knapsack straps, so you can hike with it while it is on your back or chest, like a baby carrier. It also has a lot of ventilation, so you won't wind up with roast parrot on a hot day. We love our Pack o Bird, such a well made and well thought-out product.

Well since I live in a island nation, I travel to different islands a few times a year or so. And when ever I go I always take Cookie with me.

I'm pretty much going to use a carrier to make sure Cookie'll be close to me. Especially since Cookie gets very stressed when s/he can't see me.

Thanks for the reply.

Maybe I will get a Pac o bird. I may just be able to save up enough money for it.

Sorry, more things to consider.
What is the mode of transportation, car, plane? The carrier needs to be sized to fit in the space alloted if comercial transportation.

Do you need a cage when you are at your destination? If so there are smaller, lightweight cages which would be fine for a cockateil for both travel and staying in during your visit. I often transport my bird in a travel cage and she stays in it all week when we're camping.

Backpacks/soft carriers can perform double duty as well and may be easier to carry.

I usually go by a boat (mostly speed boat) and most of the time I will need a cage at my destination but I can bring along a cage. If Cookie were to be in a cage s/he'd be farther away from me, which I worry will stress her/him.

By boat.... how cool is that! You want to make extra sure that your choice is escape proof. Hmm, are there any options that float? Or you could modify whatever carrier you go with so that it has a floatation device on it. Hey, better safe than sorry, right

Yep better safe than sorry;). I may just be able to modify it a little so it'll float or something.
