So, I’ll be getting another cockatiel soon he will be ready in the next few weeks.

I’ve never done this before with my birds, but wondered how easy is it to harness train a cockatiel?

I wanted to know the pros and cons or anything I should consider with it, if anyone else has done it and if they’re bird really does enjoy it [emoji4]

As mentioned I’ve never done it before and it worries the life out of me if for example it escaped out of the harness [emoji33]

Thanks [emoji120]

My male cockatiel is harnessed trained, I tried with my female, but she doesn't like the harness.

How easy it will be to harness train depends on the bird as an individual.

Because of their smaller size, flightsuits are recommended for cockatiels rather than a harness, but either one works.

If you get the right size than the bird won't escape.

I can't list all the pros and cons, hopefully someone else will be able to list them.

Each is an individual. Some take to it like ducks to water (he he), some, like my Salty, take months and months of training. It took us almost a year.
