Can anyone can tell if my Wylie male, or a female?

When I received as a baby as had to finish raising him as breeder was going to have him put down due to he thought he had cancer as he had a huge lump by crop. So I took him on and was a crop infection. He be about a year old in 2 months completed his first molt a while ago, but suspect he a female and not a male as the breeder told me, just due to colors and under tail, but not sure. If anyone that know by looking at him did take a picture of under tail as well can tell me it be greatly appreciate, as plan on getting him DNA tested in a couple of weeks as I did the other 2 already, which turn out to be females.

That stippling colour under the tail says “female” to me!

It looks like you have a pied or possibly a pied cinnamon Tiel.
It might be possible to visually sex you’re bird but I am not the dude that can do that. The tail markings are the best visual indicator of sex.

I would go by behavior and how vocal the bird is.
You already have 2 female birds and know how much noise they make.
If your new bird is noticeably more vocal then it’s most likely male.

He not as vocal as my male pearl pied cockatiel which is very vocal and learned a few tunes and tries to mimic my U2's at times. He pretty much the same loudness as my other 2 females. Other reason I suspect he a female and also the striping colour under the tail. I am just not sure?

Whatever he/she is...he/she is gorgeous...and he/she does almost match your rug! lol.

The patches of orange on the cheek are, from the pictures, quite vibrant which suggests male to me. But the mutations make that wildly inaccurate now.

The tail feathers look like they are still barred which would mean juvenile feathers or a female bird. Never sexed 'tiels by underside of tail feathers when I bred them though. You also mentioned successful moult which makes it more likely female.

Build of bird is on the lighter side for a 'tiel which also suggests male to me but could just be the rough start.

I had a whiteface male who was quieter than some of my females so how vocal a bird is can be hard to use as a judge of gender.

At the end of the day though you know your bird better than I can judge from some pictures. So if your gut says female you're probably right.

Just going on the pictures I would say 80% sure female. It's been over 10 years since I bred 'tiels so I can't say for certain as I am out of touch with sexing them.

When you know for sure please let us know. I would love to find out.
