Hello! I have had my cockatiel for ten months now, and he's about a year old. He loves head scratches and he'll get on my palm but I've just never been able to get him to even try perching on my finger. Any thoughts?

Aww welcome to you. You can try a hand held perch, and over time shorten the space at the end he perches do he keeps getting closer to your hand. At first let him be at the far end, repeat often till that doesn't seem scary to him, then just keep adjusting do that end is less and less. Take your time and find he best bribe good to use as a reward. Poped pocorn, a seed, a bit of bread whatever he likes best.

Great advice Laurasea. :smile049:
That's exactly what we did before Levi allowed us to handle him.

Best of luck to you both.
