I could soon be adopting a pair of cockatiels who I am told are between 6-8 months. As far as I know they haven't been handled much, if at all, and I want to know how difficult it is going to be to tame them?

I have tamed a cockatiel before who was aviary bred but he was by himself and only 9 weeks old when I got him.

I also want to ask how it might effect my relationship with my existing cockatiel if I now bring in more of his own kind. He has only been with me about 3.5 months and he loves sitting with me, getting scritches and isn't bothered about my other birds. But I don't know if 3.5 months is enough time to build a strong enough bond to keep him interested in me if/when these other guys come in.

I started off with one budgie who couldn't love me more, she's 100% bonded with me so when I got another pair of baby budgies she was curious for a while and sometimes goes off with them now but I'm still her favourite. Whilst the baby budgies are tame (they'll step up and land on me now and then) they don't really seek out my company and prefer being with each other. Is it going to be a similar situation if I get these tiels?
