Hey guys!

Today Iā€™m making some more chop for Lexa, and I wanted to add sweet potatoes to it! I saw a video where someone made chop and then thawed it out and then added sweet potatoes but I was wondering if I could add the sweet potatoes directly to the chop for freezing? Instead of freezing, thawing, and then adding sweet potatoes.

What do you guys think? Is there some reason I canā€™t freeze the sweet potatoes?

Thanks!

Yes, you can freeze it.

I shred it (like shredded cheese), and blanche it with the rest of the chop (throw into boiling water for 90 seconds, then transfer to strainer and run under cold water to stop any further cooking). Blanching is really needed for any fresh vegetables you intend to freeze.
