We grinded up some pellets and gave them to pikachu (only pellets no seeds at all) we added 1 whole pellet in it. Pikachu gladly ate some pellet powder but when i hold a solid one up to his/her beak, she licks and grinds it a lil, it's like she plays with it, and then she spits it out. Do you think it's too hard for her/his beak?

What kind of pellets are they? Sometimes they are too hard, sometimes too big. My conures and cockatiel like small pellets, and also generally ones that are not too hard.

Tropican lifetime formula pellets and ZuPreem FruitBlend pellets. I can send a pic but it will have to be in an upload pictures link because i don't want to waste all my attachment space LOL.;)

No pictures needed, save the space for cute bird pics :). My ‘tiel eats the small Zupreem fruit pellets. She does dunk them in her water though. Has she ever eaten these pellets, and suddenly stopped eating them? Or are these new pellets for her? You could try just breaking them up a bit, and see if she responds better to the smaller size, or you could try a different pellet that is softer. If it’s a new pellet to her, she may just be getting used to it or you may need to try something different. Sometimes it takes a few to find the one that they like.

I’ve tried so many pellets on my girl - and the only one she will eat is the Zupreem fruit. My other birds eat Zupreem natural and Roudybush mini size. I used to feed TOPs, but they changed the formula (made it harder) and none of mine would eat it.

Amy a Blue Front 'Zon
Jonesy a Goffins 'Too who had to be rehomed :-(

And a Normal Grey Cockatiel named BB who came home with me on 5/20/2016.
BB also eats Fruitiblend pellets and makes dust. Even Amy with his roudybush maintanence pellets theres dust.
