I know in the wild parrots live in hollow logs.
I found this one and wondered if Skippah would like it.
So far he doesnt.

Is it unlikely for him to take to this little refuge? It doesnt show up really well, but there is a hole in the middle of this log.

if nothing else, so far it has kept him off the top of his cage. the pix show the closest he is prepared to get to it at the moment.

Looks like a great log, and for the time being its keeping Skippah off the top of the cage, wonder how long that will last. I'm sure he'll soon get used to it and start pulling it apart. :D

You did remember to give it a good scrub first didn't ya? :D I'm sure ya did just thought I'd mention it.

How is he getting on with it now.

I have Quarrantined it for some time for introducing him to it.
No joy so far. He is sitting on the opposite corner of the cage now.
He still wont go near it.
Time will change that, but I want to know if he will ever go and snuggle up and sleep in it.
He spends his entire life standing up. Surely he is ready for a nice lay down. Ive only been out of bed for and hour, and I am.

There are a lot who would, but just as many that wont use it for anything exept pulling apart. I would leave it in place for a while to see if he ever goes near it. The ones I know that would definately go in it, love playing in boxes huts etc. But then again I only know a few Toos. Bucc never lays down and won't ever go in things like that. He would however rip it to bits. Kito on the other hand would spend a lot of time in there.

Isn't it your evening over there, should you not be getting ready for bed, rather than just getting up???????? Its 9.50 am here.

Well, time will tell.
Speaking of time, its the weekand man.
I played battlefield 2 till 4am and then went to bed, and got up at about 3pm, Bitched and moaned, and had some coffee, posted, went back to bed, napped till 5pm-ish, then ate some soup and now thinking about going to bed or playing battlefield 2 for an hour or 2 before going to bed again. My Online gaming Clan is "ubik", and I post there maybe 10 or 12 times a day.
So if you think I am opinionated here, dont go to Clanubik.com coz you wont like it.

May have to now go and have a look. :D :D

I've been out at a football tournament all day, come home like a burnt lobster  but have been thinking of this post.

Have you tried putting some special treats in the log and on the log, that may just intice Skippah to the log, Is there anything he really really loves, apart from you, :D

yuppers.
I scattered bird crack all over the log (sunflower seeds) and he had a cursory exploration of the outer part of the log.
No other huge breakthoughs yet.
Note: He is all over it now. I suspect he will make it bigger from the inside out.
He has started chewing it, inside and out.
Its nice to see him actually doing something for a change.
He has spent a few hours now attacking it from every angle. Its very nice to see.
