Now the bird is at eye level all the time and cant sit out of reach, I have been doing much more work with him.
I read somewhere that I shouldnt make demands of him while he is eating, but now I have noticed when ever i want to do any work with him, he starts eating stuff, or pretending to. So I walk off till he stops eating, and he stops,... till I walk back over to do some stepping up work with him. Is he playing me?
Is he showing me he is stressed by eating every time I want to work him?
Am I being paranoid?
or is he really out to get me?
How long should i be working him?
Im going for about 2 minutes every 20 minutes or 1/2 an hour.
I just ask him to step up, walk around the house on my shoulder or wrist, while being petted, and then stepping back onto the perch. Also taking into the bathroom when we shower each day.
Is this too much work for him?
Not enough?
I got more time if he does,......

I think he's worked out that everytime he is eating then you walk away, so now when he knows you want to do some work with him, he is then eating (or pretending to) so you walk away. Try setting out certain times of the day, then before you work with him take the food out of his way until you are done. Then give him his food back.

He's one smart bird you got there :D He's getting you to do things at HIS pace and that can't be how its done. :D YOU are the head of the flock and not HIM. (thats not gonna stop him from trying it on tho')

I just work with him every time I go past.
Or everytime he catches my eye.
Or every 20 minutes, which ever comes 1st.

Maybe try doing training on a more routine schedule, if that doesnt work at all then go back to doing what ever works best for you both.
