After much waiting, i brought my 5 month old goffin home yesterday. I have a couple of questions.

1. Should he be sleeping for a specific set time each night? The reason i ask is that alot of the time i'll work till 9:30 at night. I'd like to put him to 'cage' at night around 9:00 or 10:00. When i work that late, should i just come home and leave him be? Advice?

2. This is the second day i've had him. Is it too early to introduce the feather teather and take him somewhere? I know with my smaller birds i'd never put then through something so exciting so soon, but is it the same with bigger birds? Or would doing something like that so soon help him bond with me?

3. I have a spare bedroom that is the "bird room". I keep all the cages in there, all the supplies, there's a bathroom for birdy showers etc. I'd like to keep him in that room, but i do have one of those huge rope balls hanging from the ceiling in the living room that i plan to put him on every time i get home so he can be part of the family. Is it a bad idea to keep him in a seperate room? Can i have some opinions on this? I don't want him to be screaming at me the moment i walk in the door, or when i'm focusing on something else cuz he wants attention.

Thanks tons, i wanna do it right with this bird. :white1:

EDIT: He also hissed at me this morning when i was trying to get him out. I stopped immediately and started giving him hemp seed treats and petting him. He really doesn't want to leave his cage. My plan is to just leave him there and give him treats periodically today till he steps onto my arm of his own accord. Is the hissing a bad sign? I read that they do it when threatened. :( I feel bed now. ;>_> lol
