I like the goffin's and the galah's but my boyfriend like's the Major Mitchell's..... What are your opinions as owners? I don't care about talking ability. I just want a sweet even tempered bird which I know I'm dreaming there but I have seen people cuddling and loving all over their cockatoos and I would like to have a snuggly bird. Thanks for you input.

Whose bird is going to be? These guys are lifetime commitments so unless he wants a bird for himself...long term you need to think about what you want. If your going to be the one that does all the work, spending the majority of the time with it, and heaven forbid - but if you break up and your left with the bird it had better be one that you want. You happened to pick my top cockatoo favorites (don't tell Princess). I've met a couple of galah's recently - their awesome! I also adore the Goffins. I would suggest going to a reputable rescue and meeting the three different ones that you are looking at. This will give you an idea as to what you really like (and are getting into with each) and a chance to interact with them prior to attaining them.

My personal pick from you list would probably be the RB2.

I recently got to spend some time with a goffins and I fell in love with him. He was an absolute doll and I had myself talked into getting him when Oliver was completely better but another family got him. Which totally bummed me out but I'm glad he went to a great home. I have seen Galahs at bird shows and pet stores but I have never really been able to interact with them. They seem like loveable clowns but I'm undecided. The Major mitchells are bigger than I would like and I have heard too many horror stories about them. Thanks for the suggestion on looking for a rescue group hadn't thought about that I'll call my vet and see if they know of any in my area.
