Lola - 8 year old Goffins cockatoo
As far as I can determine Lola has started her fourth week of molting and still seems to have an awful lot of pins in her neck area. I help her with them when she lets me but most of the time she is not in the mood and gets quite cranky. A lot of the feathers have started coming out the end of the pin but the hard part remains next to her neck. Any ideas on how much longer this is going to go on? Thanks!!

For the rest of Lola's life! ;)
If lola is cranky and will not let you help then it may take a bit longer. Make sure Lola is getting a daily watering down/bath and that should help some. One of my deciding factors to getting a second GCC was to help my first (Molly) during molt time. It's not an option for most people but it seems that molt time has become a non issue since my babies help each other through it!
