I purchased a Goffin Cockatoo that was hatched on Easter from a repatable breeder. He/She is beautiful but has has light grey markings on his wings. Is that normal? I have never seen grey on a goffin cockatoo before. I have researched all over the internet but could not come up with an answer!

I agree a pic is needed. It could be anything from some staining from news paper bedding to being a goffin's X galah hybrid. Assuming its a pure goffin's, my first guess would be news print rubbed off on her.

How about a picture of the rest of the bird including the face? That does seem to be an oddly pigmented feather. Its not uncommon for some species to have a few charcoal gray feathers around their face as babies. My own sulfer crest did and I've seen some umbrellas with it. Normally it molts out though after the first year. I don't think I've ever seen it on the rest of the body. Just the face around the front of the crest.

Well, it looks like a young bird, so I would guess its just some abnormal baby coloring that sometimes happens. I'd have her in for a well bird check up and see what the vet says if you haven't already. If she were mine I'd probably have a PBFD test done just to make sure, and then I wouldn't worry about it. She doesn't look like a PBFD bird to me, but I'm not an expert.

Thank you for your expert advice. You are correct that she/he is just a baby, hatched on Easter about 11 weeks old. I will defiantly take her into get looked at by an expert. What is a PBFT bird?

its PBFD
Psittacine Beak and Feather Disease

there is lot of info you can get by searching over net and do ask your expert about it. if you cant find anything helpful regarding PBFD then i will try to post some links to website for you

Regarding Grey feather, it seems alright to me and it might be due to some lack of nutrition in food resulting change in color of feather.

you must consider a vet visit ASAP as i found this article where its written as

"Stress bars and sudden changes in feather color suggest to me liver disease, which can be the result of factors other than a fatty diet. A thorough blood work-up for your bird is probably in order."
