If I take the sunflower seeds out of Rocky's diet, will he eat the fruit and veg, or will he starve and not eat anything. (the breeder gave me sunflower seeds to feed on a regular basis, but it's extremely unhealthy for them).

A few people on here have tried this, taking out their food and replacing it with something like pallets or fruit & veggies till they eat it. They won't starve, they will eat.

I know their diet, I was just asking if I take the sunflower seeds out will he starve, because that's all he seems to eating when he is in his cage.
(I do give him fruit/veg as well).

I'm with Monica on this one, but I know this FROM personal experience!!!!!

My LSC too was that way as I give her strictly pellets and she refused to eat them. She was loosing weight daily. I had to give her seeds back cause she was starving to death.

First of all, you need to lower the amount of sunflower seeds tremendously!!!! I would only give minimal like 4 sunflower seeds in the bowl with other seed mixes. You can do the mixing of pellets and seeds. Another way I did that works really well is one bowl pellets that's in the cage 24/7 and another bowl I would feed fresh fruits and veggies in the morning and then in the evening I feed very minimal seeds like a table spoon. I had my U2 converted this way in less then a week. Just be observant, IF he's eating the pellets, you have to witness him eating it! Then stop feeding seeds all together.
