I found Buddytoo on our local classifieds. Showed him to Hubby and he agreed to go look at him. When we got there we found this dirty plucked too with only 1 perch in his cage and nothing more. Doug immediately told me to get the carrier from the car as we were taking him home. I asked how she bathed him and she never had! He is 4-5 years old. He now has a big new cage and all the toys a bird could ask for. He is very afraid of sticks and hands but seems to be coming around a bit. He's been here since the end of Feb. I sing and read to him and he seems to like that. Went yard saleing to get Dr Seuss books as I read that parrots like them and he sure does seem to. I am hoping in time to be able to handle and cuddle him but I know it has to be done on his terms so as not to further stress him but I do believe in time he will come around. He will let me scritch him but only after I do alot of sucking up to him. here is the pic of him on the classifieds and one of him the day after he got here after a good bath.

Holy ...!
He looks terrible and abused in that first picture! You REALLY did a GREAT thing! He looks so much happier and healthier with you! You're a hero!

Parrots
gold capped conure (Munchie)
moluccan cockatoo (Poppy)
people like that really piss me off. there is absolutely NO excuse not to have knowledge of the type of bird they own. tons of info is at your fingertip nowadays with the internet & such. when i adopted my M2, they were giving him swedish fish candy for treats, never took him to a vet, seed only diet, cage was a bit small. he is in much better hands now.

:D So happy someone deservingly has taken him in
Those people (if you can call them that) should be reported and penalized. :(
In time he will settle down, start climbing onto sticks etc.
Keep talking and interacting constantly, you will gain his trust.
Good luck
Keep us posted
Take care
