Just wanted to share that after a week with Lilly she has started coming off of her cage and walking to me on the floor. When she gets to me she asks to step up holding out her foot. When I pick her up she loves on me and rubs her head on my leg.
Sometimes when I leave the room she screams but not every time. I have only had her a week now and already feel closer to her. She likes to eat off of my plate and share food with me (example she will take something from my plate and try to give it to me). She is interacting with me now by talking and blabbering while looking straight at me. She waves hello to me when I raise my hand.

I am seeing so many positive reactions from her now.

Just wanted to share :)

also I am going to try and attach a picture of her and this picture was the first time she held her foot out to me and said "Step up"

I have worked with her all week. I have shared every meal with her I have talked to her non stop and I didn't force her to step up, I waited on her to show me she was ready. I have gave her treats every time I walk by her cage. This is the way I worked with my amazon rescue years ago. I tried to remember exactly what I did with her and use that with Lily.

She is still cage aggressive though but only when she is inside, if she is outside of the cage she will allow me anywhere inside and out. But if she is inside she will hiss.

That is her area and she needs time to accept it can be your area to:p. with time I'm sure she will allow you in her cage to get her out and do things. This is just a matter of her protecting the only thing that has not changed for her.

I was told that she has always been cage aggressive. The previous owner was floored when I told her she let me in her cage to change water/food out.. But I can't do anything else or she hisses and lunges.

Her cage is to little for her that is for sure but I don't want to change until she's settled in here. But when she is out of the cage on the door and spreads her wings she is as wide (almost) as the entire cage :(

I just feel as if She has had to much change all at once and I need to hold off on a new cage.......before I picked her up her foster mom clipped her wings and did not do the best of job she looks like a weed eater has had ahold of her. then she was sent to foster care because her mom went into a nursing home then a month later she was moved again to my home. I feel so sorry for her.
I can tell she don't like her wings cut and that shes use to flying because she tries so hard to fly to me before giving up and walking on the floor.

JtBirds, I did do something today at dinner... she likes to eat off my plate but she was in her cage. I saw her reaching for me so I would get a bite of pasta but ask her to touch my finger and after the touch I fed her. She absolutely LOVED this trick and would hold her hand out over and over even if I had the spoon up she would still reach out and touch me first.
This very well could be our new trick. :)
and to your comment earlier, I have tried as hard as I can to do everything right and have spent the last month at my laptop researching before bringing her home.

Since the previous owner said she is doing things she's never done before I like to think it's the way I have worked with her ;)
