My galah has been growing random white feathers on his back where they should be grey and I'm looking to find out if this is indicitive of some kind of illness or if he's just a mutation colour. I read online that they appear as the bird matures but I'd really just love to get a second opinion :b

i am the mom of three parrots:
Dorothy- African grey (cag)
Bowie- blue and gold macaw
Nellie- hyacinth macaw
Reggie- hyacinth macaw
Marnie- white bellied caique
This is a good question, my baby galah had a wing feather that was slower to come in than the rest of them. When it did come in it was white at the bottom 1/4 of it.

Sorry, I can't help, but my Dominic has a noticeable amount of dark grey feathers mixed in with the pink ones in his crest. Maybe it's the equivalent of a human going grey?
