I was Just wondering if anyone had any tricks to keeping or getting a cockatoos feathers clean. He gets a shower about 2 times a week and a few sprtiz of feather shine, but he has a spot on the top of his head I cant get clean. We wash or hands before petting him. I guess thats what I get for having a white anything.

Kings Cages makes a cockatoo shampoo that is great on them. I'm not sure the exact name but it is something like Cockatoo Renew Shampoo.

I think i read somewhere that grape Kool-Aid and blue Easter egg dye, when mixed properly, makes a great shampoo for anything white.

I think the key word is when mixed properly otherwise you might have a blue U2

Yes that is the very rare hyacinth Crested Cockatoo. As he gets older and stops drinking kool aid out of a sippy cup the colors will be more uniform. This is a very rare bird. I believe I am the only one to have one.

Sorry also just had to be a smart a.... I don't know of anything but offering baths as you are doing. Be sure to keep his cage and perches clean as they often rub on them. He looks great in the pictures though.
