While Treebee and I were off on our RV trip, I really upset poor Silas.

You see, the way our RV is set up, his cage is in direct view of the shower. There is a door there but This one time that I got out of the shower it was open. I looked at silas and he was looking at me standing there in all my nakedness and he was non too happy to see me with no feathers on!!

It never occurred to me that he had never seen me undressed. He was a bit freaked out. I guess he thought I had plucked myself!!

He settled down and felt much better about the whole thing once I was dressed and giving him a treat.

Hmmm, maybe I was just being played....

Valentino - Red Fronted Macaw - Hatched August 12, 2012
I died laughing. This so reminds me when a baby parrot first sees me naked as I do shower with my parrots. The young innocent mind traumatized by the naked human. I never really thought about what they might think about seeing me naked I was always concentrating on the experience of getting them into the shower and learning how to enjoy the spray.

I do remember the first time I showered with my Illiger's macaw Diego. I perched him on my hand, had him at chest level and went into the shower. It was all nice and warm in there but the parrot kept staring at my chest. He then reached out and licks my nipple! I freaked! That black beak so NEAR MY NIPPLE just was too much. I was so lucky he didn't decide it was something to try to eat.

Valentino my RFM could care less that I am "without feathers" he just wants to get in there and perch on the door handle so he can get wet. He ends up falling asleep in there after he has had his fun.

Our rainbow lorikeet will go for the nipple even through a shirt! I rarely go onto the verandah shirtless (it's painful if Alex the eccy lands on my shoulder:)) but I did the other day, well Coco was determined to have a chew on that rather sensitive part!

I sent our 'tiel babies into a mad spin a few days ago, too, wearing a particular checked long-sleeve shirt. They hated it (I'm out the door at 5.45am, often go back home after 9am to see wife & birdies, she uncovers them) so I changed shirts, no problem. Weird.
