New to the Too world n in love. But, i question whether they have eaten carpet fibers. They love to pull,, really pull and are thrilled to win the tug of war. I do not ,, of course encourage this but it's been done. They don't seem disturbed but have a new stretching of their neck n sticking out of their tongue. They are eating fine, and play well. They recieved a vet check in the begining and were fine. Is this typical behavior or should I seek attention?

Welcome to the forum :D

One of the top ten dangers for a companion parrot is ingesting objects that it shouldn't. Some parrots will even eat wood from their own toys! If something in the behavior seems a little off to you, make a vet visit(preferably a certified avian vet). Because parrots are wild animals they will do all they can to hide any ailments. A sick/injured/weak animal will be picked out by predators.

SWALLOWED OBJECTS – Birds are like toddlers – they are into everything and everything goes into their mouths. The difference between a toddler and a bird is that children don’t have the bite power to break things apart to make them a more convenient size for swallowing and children cannot fly up onto shelves where we might put things to keep them out of reach.

Thanks,, i think i'll make an appt. i wonder if they will xray or what procedure will be followed if there is an impaction. They r young (1yr) so they chew everything including their perch and toys. I just want them safe and happy.
