I have a 7 month old Goffin. I have had "her" since 10/4 when she was 5 1/2 months. She is my bird but interacts daily with the rest of the family. The problem that I am having is that she constantly crys around me. If I am in her field of vision, she is crying. As soon as I walk out of the room, she stops. She crys even when I am holding her. She is a healthy bird and has a good appetite (although she will not eat anything other than bird food). She doesn't act this way with anyone else. I feel like I am not able to give her the attention that she needs because I don't want to condone her behavior. I feel like I am fighting a losing battle. Any advice I can get is greatly appreciated!!

Goffins can be very sensitive, you'll want to do this carefully to not hurt her feelings.

try teaching her to make a different noise in your presence. When around you if she makes a noise you prefer get very excited and reward her, but don't react to the crying. Would you be able to take a video of the crying?

Unfortunately, thats the only sound that she makes around me...aside from the occasional scream. I have heard her babble and try to talk when she is alone but only then. I have made a video of her in one of her"fits" but am not able to upload to the site.
