Prerequisite Statement; I HOPE THIS PHOTO COMES THROUGH.
Good people of Parrot Forums, it gives me great pleasure to present to you my new baby KNUCKLES. She is a six month old Citron Crested Cockatoo, and I look forward to providing her with a carefree life of love, happiness and learning.
I hope to be picking her up in a few days. She has been on hold for me for almost two weeks now. I would have picked her up sooner, but I could not afford it. I have made some (drastic) financial maneuvers to make this happen, but every sacrifice has been made happily, in anticipation of bringing her into a loving home.
I made this decision weeks ago, and was afraid to tell you all, for several reasons. As you know, I am not a long time bird owner, most people discourage you from even saying the word cockatoo, and she is not a rescue. I hope I am not disappointing anyone. I hope to rescue birds in the future, when my situation allows for more space in my home, and when I have more experience with behavioral issues. Until such time, each month, I pick a bird, who needs a little help, and donate financially, or with toys and treats. I consider it an offering (albeit small) until I can be of greater help. Its my way of saying thanks for being able to have such wonderful birds in my life.
I'm sure I will have lots of questions once she comes home, and I look forward to learning (even more) from you all.
