Well Sophie is on the mend and let me tell you she is being a brat ! I have been spoiling her for so long while she was sick, and now that she is getting better and i see her acting up i have to make her mind and oh man that two year old Cockatoo is popping out all over the place ! Screaming, temper fits, i give her toys she will whip them right across the room ! I am going to have to Glue her food down LOL she has dumped it on the floor 4 times yesterday just to watch me pick it up. I get it picked up and no sooner and she is dumping it back out. She also took everything she could pick up and piled it in her water bowl, everything was soaking wet LOL I went in and asked her what in the world are you doing ??? and all she could do was laugh !! everything is funny to her. ( i have to hold it in cause i try not to laugh when her does )

I know at this time its make or break on her behavour, she is going to push for all her white little feather can handle. Tomorrow we go back to the doctor for her one week check up, and we will have a 3 hour car ride WOOT, that will be fun !

She's starting to push her boundaries! Here's how I handle the food dumping, I put in a quarter of the amount I usually give and if they dump it I say boohoo you get nothing. They learn fast not to waste! But usually go back doing it cause my partner don't help with the cause....ugh..... but when I feed they know.....I got tired of fighting a losing battle with Dixie as my partner don't get on board with me as Dixie is a spoiled brat by my partner's doing....she waste a lot of food daily....

My first thought without reading the post was... aren't they all!!??

The crocks that lock into place are a thought too... can't dump the bowl if she can't lift it!!

I know the hard not to laugh thing... they are so cute and think they are so funny and adorable, its hard not to smile or laugh. Especially when you're giving them heck and they start bobbing or dancing...

For the screaming, I would not even come into the room or even acknowledge her... If you are in the room when she starts, literally turn your back on her and walk away a bit. Much like what they do when a bird misbehaves in the flock, they get shunned til they mind their manners :)

One day you'll look back and miss this years... yeah right!! :)

Um, your parrot is a cockatoo! Enough said. ;)

She sounds very cheeky and adorable. You can reward good behavior, and ignore bad behavior, but you can't fully take the brat out of the 'too! :D

Glad she's healing up. Hopefully the vet and behaviorist will have some advice on how to get her not tipping the dishes :D
