Thanks, he really does, I was filming that while trying so hard not to laugh and giggle :p

I just love it when he goes upside down and swings back and forth, he usually does it in the doorway of his cage. He's such a lovely creature to watch <3

I also adore his long and floppy crest <3

Olly is sure a cheery fella in the morning! I LOVE his beautiful crest. Major mitchells are pretty rare here in the US, but I've always admired their beauty. You're so lucky to have Olly:)

Major Mitchell! IMO the prettiest too out there followed closely by the galah. Beautiful bird and what a character!

Olly is so beautiful, and his dancing and hanging upside down literally made me laugh out loud:)

I loved that! Thanks for sharing. Over here in US they usually are over $5000.

How are MM in terms of liking to be handled? I've always heard that unlike the usual Too, they're more hands off?

I'm not sure of Major Mitchells in general, but Olly will not tolerate being touched. Having said that, we suspect that his previous owner mistreated him since at first he reacted violently to any kind of advance.

Nowadays, with me at least, he lets me know he doesn't want to be touched but he isn't aggressive.

I was told that he had been hand raised and then left in an aviary for a while as well. So I don't blame the poor boy for having a couple of issues. But he seems to be getting happier all the time, and I'd have to say I think he's quite content here. His antics in the other video attest to that!

He is definitely a ladies man and prefers women's company but he seems alright around my brother now as well. He'll take a treat from most people pretty well but he is so gentle and takes it almost affectionately from me. He's never bitten me, though he's had plenty of opportunity to, so I'm counting that as a good sign as well.

He absolutely loves human food and will be so cheeky as to try and steal it right out of my hand. I learned the hard way that having a packet of potato chips within sight of his cage is also a big no-no unless I want help eating them.

He's such a character!

Are you *sure* he isn't an amazon dressed up as a cockatoo? lololol

I'm so glad sweet Olly found a great home with you. Good luck with snacking for the rest of forever, and I hope you like sharing:) Once they get a taste of our food, they never forget lol. My mom gave her birds a little chunk of these pecan cookies years and years ago. Now they think ALL cookies are this kind, and whenever she wants cookies, she must also give the birds some of the pecan cookies or suffer the 'consequences':52: Imagine, having to buy cookies you don't even eat especially for your birds:rolleyes:

His favourite is potato chips, hands down. He'll go from asleep or thoroughly involved in something, to hanging off his cage hooting at me in 2 seconds flat!

We just got our MM about 2 months ago and is great. He like yours is a ladies man and loves my oldest daughter. She can do anything with him and he sits there letting her scratch his head and neck. He is now letting her slowly under his wings. Me (Dad) on the other hand he just tolerates. Lets me hold him but as soon as I raise my free hand he starts to get freaked.

Bubba his name really does not do much in his cage like yours and nice to see yours so playful. Hope Oily comes around for you in time and lets you snuggle with him.
