I am a really bad Mum... to my human kids that is!!

Chicka has really taken a dislike to my 10yr old son. No matter how much he tries she hates him. Yesterday he was lying on the couch watching TV when Chicka climbed off her cage, climbed up onto the couch and lunged at him. he quickly moved away when she lunged again. He got off the couch and walked away when she decided to take pursuit. It looked so funny watching this bird waddling though the house as fast as she could after my "not afraid of anything" son. I know I shouldn't laugh but it was pretty funny to see.

He's happy to handle our 8ft python but terrified of the too.

Poor kid

I don't blame him one bit. I would be scared of a too coming after me, too! Has Chicka been DNA'd a female? Because that sounds more like a male reacting to a competitor for the object of his affection's attention than a hen that has taken a dislike to somebody.

In adults the females have a lighter Iris which is how we know she's a she. The couple that rescued her said she didn't like thier kids either.

Yes, people talk about the eye color as a way of visually sexing toos but, according to my AV and my personal experience, this method doesn't work all the time because I have two umbrellas with black eyes and they are both females (and I don't only know this because they were both DNA'd but also because they both lay eggs).

I guess if she lays an egg we'll know for sure. I did read that the eye colour may not change until 8yrs of age so I'm also going to guess she's over 8yrs old... either way it doesn't bother me, she's still an amazing bird

Yes I know very ashamed ;) I think you would have been laughing too, it looked so funny. Maybe that's what I'll call her.. Dynamite!!

Now Bellador's got me wondering, could she be male - dammit, it still doesn't bother me but I'm getting curious:white1:

I find it amusing when Dusty lunges at my father. My father generally deserves any to all punishment Dusty gives him so it makes it more enjoyable to watch. Justice

I think it's the waddle that looks so funny, esp when they are trying to go fast
