- I have two umbrella cockatoos, Duke and Duchess. Duchess is 8 and Duke is 4. That is the ages when I got them.
My female is 8 years old and I was told she has laid a couple eggs in the past (Iv'e only had them a little over a week) but the eggs were removed and discarded. The male is 4 years old and they have been together since he was a baby. This weekend they started trying to mate. Is there anything I can do to stop them? I have also noticed that she is chewing his feathers. I thought he was doing it as he was kinda rough looking when I got him but upon studying them, Iv'e found that it's her doing it. Her feathers are pristine but his are pretty chewed up. They are caged together.
